  UNC Charlotte

  The front door to North Carolina’s urban research university, and the flagship of the 400+ sites I help design, develop and manage there. I built its custom WordPress theme, which has five child themes, and about 20 custom Gutenberg blocks. The site has to speak to prospective students, families, researchers and alumni at once, and work for everyone, so accessibility is built in from the start.

  A humanitarian and animal relief organization that provides medical care and education to the animals and children of Ecuador, so the logo and colors follow Ecuador’s national colors. The site is very image intensive, yet it scored an 88 performance grade on Pingdom.

I also help coordinate cooperative efforts between ITS and the Communications department to improve the user experience and help deliver digital featurettes and stories.

I managed the post-production process and talent on a team that created over 1,000 videos for those brands’ sales and customer service: internal and external post talent, asset archiving, voice-over talent and the client review process. I edited most projects through initial review and did some of the video finishing.

  A production company and cable network broadcasting local high school and collegiate sports and civic events, including the memorial service for Wapakoneta hero Neil Armstrong, with portions carried live nationwide. I was the first hire, before the company started broadcasting. I designed, purchased and outfitted an RV production vehicle for full HD broadcasting: sound, cameras, switcher, graphics, capture, live streaming, communications and monitoring. We went from 4 test broadcasts in 2009 to 60+ in 2010 and beyond.

I was promoted 3 times in 3 years, oversaw the identity and branding of a second digital station in 2009, and was heavily involved in the analog-to-digital upgrade.
